Marcus Davin and his 1938 BMW R12 Make: BMW Model: R12 Year: 1938 Country of Origin: Germany Engine: 748cc Twin Transmission: 4 speed Owner: Marcus Davin City: Newport Beach		1938 BMW R12 Congratulations to Marcus Davin of Newport Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1938 BMW R12. Marcus won a $20.00 Beach Burgers gift certificate provided by Beach Burgers and The Scooter Solution. This was Marcus' second time winning Bike of the Month. He won back in September 2013 with his 1966 BMW R50/2. Marcus has owned this bike for 2 years. It was restored in Germany. Last month's winner Mike Dunn of Vintage German Motorcycles in Riverside has worked on the bike getting into it's current condition. According to Marcus, the R12 was one of the first motorcycles to have a telescoping front fork. Thanks Marcus for bringing this rare bike to our meet. View all the photos in our December Gallery.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
