The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again.
Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for
their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.

Congratulations to Allan Scott of Irvine for winning Bike of the Month with his 1950 Moto Guzzi 250 Airone.
Allan won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Today was Allan's first time to our meet. He's been on the mailing list for about 6 months and finally made it down.
Allan has been a long time Moto Guzzi fan and owns two others along with a Ural with a side car.
He found this bike two years ago advertised online in Classic Trader.
The bike was located in Livorno Italy. Allan had a friend who lives close to Livorno and was able to make the trip to inspect the bike.

It has a unique single spring magnesium rear end with adjustable cork dampening. The straight through exhaust pipe has an adjustable baffle to quiet it down while racing through town.
The 250cc single is a four stroke with a total loss oil system that was also designed to lubricate the chain. Alan has corked the chain lube mechanism to reduce the oil loss.
