Huntington Beach, Calif. - Well the weather was cooler, but the action was hot today in HB. We didn't have a record, roughly 35 bikes, but we had an excellent turnout and a wide variety of vintage iron.
The battle over Bike of the Month was won by Frank Colver of Costa Mesa with his beautiful 1923 Harley Davidson WF Sport Twin. Close behind was Ernesto Quiroga with his 1961 Ducati Sport 175 and another favorite was the 1935 Anthony motorized bicycle, one of two ever manufactured. Frank has now won three times, and Ernesto has already won twice.
We also had three former BotM winners,
Ed Mitzner with his 1929 Henderson KJ, Apolo Orfali with his 1968 Gilera and JD Tone with his 1939 Indian Sport Scout.
Randy Ressell rode in on his 1935 Anthony motorized bicycle. Randy showed up with this bike back in June, and I shot several pictures then. Check out the June gallery for more pics.
Photo Milestone
Our photo gallery just grew to over 1000 pictures. My intention for this gallery is that it will become a valuable tool for future restoration projects.
It just keeps getting better and as I write this, I'm anxiously awaiting next month. Thanks to everyone who brought their bikes out today, I'll see you all again on November 9th.
