Congratulations to Bruce Fickling of San Clemente for winning Bike of the Month with his 1974 Rickman Metisse.
Bruce won a trophy provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Bruce has owned the Rickman for about a year, he placed Second with it in June, and Third with it in September. Today he got enough votes to win.
He bought the Rickman in January at the Mecum auction in Las Vegas. It was part of a museum collection for 45 years.
According the Merriam-Webster:
métisse : a girl or woman of mixed racial heritage
This is why Rickman named these bikes "Métisse", because the frames were made by Rickman to fit any engine you wanted.
This one happens to have a 1974 Triumph 750cc twin with a five speed transmission.
Bruce also won Bike of the Month back in August 2017 with his 1972 Norton 750 Commando Fastback.
Thank you Bruce for bringing your Rickman for all of us to see. See all the photos in our December Gallery.
