Congratulations to Grant Leppe of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1968 Honda CB77 Super Hawk.
Grant won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Grant has been coming to this event longer than I have. He was one of the first people I
met at the meet, and always seems willing to help with information and resources.
Grant always has something to cool to show, but rarely stays around long enough for the vote.
He won Bike of the Month back in 2011 with his 1975 Honda Trail 70 Custom on our July, 2011 Bike of the Month page.
If you're familiar with the CB77 Super Hawk, you may be thinking I made a mistake in the description on the left about it having a 400cc inline four. The Super Hawk originally
came from the factory with a 305cc parallel twin, but Grant did his magic on this one and stuffed a CB400 engine in the frame.
He had the engine initally and then found a frame he could put it in. Grant has been around Hot Rods and motorcycles his entire life. When he was in his early 20's his Corvette build
was featured in Hot Rod magazine.
He told us today that he's soon to retire from his day job. I'm looking forward to see what he may bring to our meet in the future.
Thank you Grant for bringing your Super Hawk out for all of us to see. See all the photos in our December Gallery.
