Congratulations to Jeff McCoy of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1963 Triumph TR6-SS.
Jeff won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Jeff has only owned this bike for three months. Prior to Jeff it had not run or been registered since 1967.
He is the third owner, the second owner received the bike in boxes and started to put it together. Jeff finished
the project.
The 1963 TR6-SS is somewhat rare, it was not as popular as the dual carburetor Bonneville and many of them were modified into desert sleds according to Jeff.
1963 was also the first year for the "unit" motorcycle from Triumph, where the engine and transmission cases were one piece. But it was the
last year for the Smith's mechanical speedometer and tachometers. The gages on this bike actually click through the range and are not a smooth sweep.
This bike in 100% original aside from the paint, however the paint is a factory color.
This is Jeff's fourth Bike of the Month win.
Past Winnings:
June 2021 1930 Scott Flying Squirrel
November 2020 1975 Norton Commando 850
February 2019 1950 Norton ES2
Thank you, Jeff for bringing your TR6 out for all of us to see. See all the photos in our May 2025 Gallery.
