Huntington Beach, Calif. - Happy New Year!
It was sunny and warm this afternoon, a perfect January day. We had 40 bikes in the lot at 2:00 and by the end the official count was 51. Heavy competition for Bike of the Month, six bikes took most of the votes.

Bike of the Month - Clive Brooks

Clive Brooks of Orange with his 1961 BSA A10 Super Rocket

Congratulations to Clive Brooks of Orange for winning Bike of the Month with his 1961 BSA A10 Super Rocket.

Clive has owned this BSA since 1992. It was a chopper when he bought it. Over the years he has brought it back to original condition.

Second Place - Bill McClennen

Bill McClennen of Placentia with his 1974 Kawasaki H2 750.

Congratulations to Bill McClennen of Placentia for winning Second place with his 1974 Kawasaki H2 750. Bill recently finished the restoration on this Kawasaki and it's slated for the Mecum Auction next month in Las Vegas.

Third Place Tie - Kyle Kelly

Kyle Kelly of Huntington Beach with his 1985 Yamaha RZ500.

I didn't get any information from Kyle about his Yamaha, perhaps next month.

Third Place Tie - John Vanderpal

John Vanderpal of Garden Grove with his 1977 Yamaha XS650.

John told me he spent six years on building this bike. It looks awesome!

Honorable Mention - Jim Bradford

Jim Bradford of Costa Mesa with his 1942 Villiers Wellbike.

Jim had to drive his 1942 Jeep that matched his wellbike today. It would be a rough ride from Costa Mesa on that thing.

Honorable Mention - Aaron Lopas

Aaron Lopas of West Bloomfield, MI with his 1994 Bimota YB8 with Crystal of Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.

For the past five years Aaron has been spending time in California and always brings some amazing bikes with him to enjoy in the sunshine.
