March Vintage Bike OC Meet
Norton Kick Starter

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Maybe Covid is over. We had a great meet today on a beautiful March So Cal afternoon. Everyone was ready to Spring Forward with their vintage iron. I knew it was going to be good when we started out with 39 bikes. By the time the votes were counted we had 77 bikes and a great competition for Bike of the Month.

BAM: Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists
We sure missed Venessa... Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys representatives weren't able spend their Sunday afternoon with us promoting their BAM program. Learn more about it at: www.RussBrown.com

Bike of the Month - Vince Driscoll
Vince Driscoll of Long Beach with his 1970 Norton Commando 750
Congratulations to Vince Driscoll of Long Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1970 Norton Commando 750.

Vince won the Bike of the Month plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys. www.RussBrown.com.

Vince has brought his stunning Commando several times to our meet, and usually draws some attention.

Read all about Vince's 1970 Norton Commando 750 on our Bike of the Month page.

Second Place Tie - Marcel Van Zwol
Marcel Van Zwol of Playa Del Rey with his 1968 Honda CL450
Marcel Van Zwol of Playa Del Rey tied for Second place with his 1968 Honda CL450.

This was Marcel's first time at our meet, he rode down from Playa Del Rey on PCH and it took him a while to get here. He told me he owns 17 motorcycles, so maybe we'll get to see more of his collection soon.

Second Place Tie - Steve Cook
Steve Cook of Bellflower with his 1941 Harley Davidson EL Deluxe
Steve Cook of Bellflower tied for Second with his 1941 Harley Davidson EL Deluxe.

Steve has owned his Harley for 7 years. He told me it looked about the same when he bought it, but he's had it completely apart and back together in that time.

Honorable Mentions
There was a three-way tie for what would have been Third Place, these three deserve an Honorable Mention:

1963 Honda CL72
Steve Woods of Huntington Beach with his 1963 Honda CL72.

We had our share of Suzuki's today, normally they're fairly rare, but here's two of them.

1965 Suzuki X-6
Paul Schulman of Huntington Beach with his 1965 Suzuki X-6.

1974 Suzuki RV 125
Eric Budai of Mission Viejo with his 1974 Suzuki RV 125.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. A special thanks to John Zindler for helping out with the voting today.

Help Needed in April!
The next meet is April 10, 2022. I have a prior commitment and won't be able to run the meet. I'll be working the 2022 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach where I've been volunteering for more than 20 years. (I spoke to the Grand Prix Association about their scheduling and they appologized.)

We need volunteer's to help out with the April meet. If you're available and can help please contact me.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
