Scott DaPron brought this Indian all the way from Prescott Arizona for our meet! Ok, he didn't ride it all the way, but he rode it into the parking lot with quite a fanfare. Note to future Bike of the Month contestents: We only take original un-restored pristine examples of motorcycles as illustrated here by Scott's bike.
Scott is Mike DaPron's brother. Mike won Bike of the Month back in March with his 1963 Triumph Tiger 100.
Scott couldn't tell me much about the Indian Powerplus, except that he purchased it back in 1973 and that was the first year Indian with a generator. It was found in a Lemon warehouse in Santa Paula, CA. Appearently Scott works long hours maintaining the original patina of this classic machine.
According to Scott, he rides the bike a couple of times a year. Both the motorcycle and Scott in his vintage riding gear are something to see.
Scott wouldn't pose for any glamor shots but you can check out all the pictures that I did get in the August Gallery. Thank you Scott for bringing this bike all the way from Arizona for us to see.
