Julie Tomlinson and her XS400 Make: Yamaha Model: XS Country of Origin: Japan Engine: 400cc Twin Year: 1977 Owner: Julie Tomlinson, Costa Mesa		1977 Yamaha XS400 The Good 'ol Boy's Club has been breached, the Glass Ceiling shattered and the Gender Barrier crushed - Thank God! I think women can bring a new level of sophistication to our group, or at least make some of us shower before we show up next month. Congratulations to Julie Tomlinson of Costa Mesa for winning Bike of the Month with her custom 1977 Yamaha XS400 cafe racer. Julie turned many heads when she rolled in with her gang of three cafe racers, they all looked good, but most of us liked that number 46. Julie has owned the bike for about 2 years. Although it looks the same as it did when they bought it, the engine has be completely gone through and improved. Julie was riding with James Garvey who was on a 1976 Yamaha RD400 two-stroke. Their friend Jimmy was on a 1974 Honda CB750. All three bikes were great rides. Check out all the pictures in the February Gallery. Thank you Julie and the gang for coming to the meet today.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
