1925 Harley Davidson JDL

Congratulations to Marc Gallin of Fountain Valley for winning Bike of the Month with his 1925 Harley. Marc is the webmaster for the So Cal Chapter of the the AMCA, Antique Motorcycle Club of America Thank you Marc for bringing out this fine piece of American History for all of us to see.

Marc bought the JDL from George Hood of Garden Grove back in 1997. The restoration took over two years and was started around 2004. George Hood did the restoration.

Marc said the bike is mostly original with a few reproduction parts, the air cleaner is from the 1930's and the period correct Corbin speedometer was added to the bike.

The Harley was definitely a crowd favorite today, and it had some very stiff competition. The F-Head engine, is an intake over exhuast twin that was used by HD from 1914 until 1929 when they brought out the Flat Head.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
