VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Thank you Beach Burgers! I want to personally thank June the Manager, Juana who was instrumental in arranging our meet, and the rest of the staff at Beach Burgers for their service to our group. The service was fast and friendly and the food was great. Bring your appetite when you eat at Beach Burgers.

When I first arrived just before 2:00, I was a bit disappointed because the parking lot was full. Just then, June came out from Beach Burgers and blocked the entire driveway for our meet. Now that we know how it works, we can be a bit more organized next month. I counted around 45 bikes, including five newer bikes that were parked in another area. This was a great turn-out, especially for our first Beach Burger event.

Congratulations to Angelo Tafarella for winning Bike of the Month with his 1935 Triumph T80 Messenger. This is the first pre-war Triumph that I have ever seen, and definitely a hit with our group. Two other bikes drew some attention, Randy Ressell's recently restored early 70's Rickman Hodaka, and Holkan Martensson's 1947 Harley Davidson FL. MASSIMO'S SPIES
We had two scouts staked out at Massimo's to help ensure that people new that we had moved. Apparently one guy showed up, and even though my friend gave him a flyer to Beach Burgers and explained that we moved, he decided to buy a slice from Massimo's. Well I guess we can't win them all, maybe he was just too hungry to make the five mile ride.

Once again, it was a great meet. I'm very happy that we found a new place. Thanks to all of you who came out and making it great. I'm already looking forward to our meet on November 8, 2009 at Beach Burgers. Mark your calendars.
