"9 Vitae" Latin for 9 Lives, this bike has been through many iterations. Congratulations to Don Leonhardt of Long Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1977 Honda CB750 cafe. Don has only been to our meet a couple of time with his recently finished build.
Don bought this bike on EBay in 2006 from Wisconsin for $200.00. This build has too many custom parts to list.
It starts out with a bored out 750 bringing it to 836CC with a ported head and Keihin CR 29MM Carbs. The engine was built by Jay LaRossa, Lossa Engineering in Long Beach. It has many Joker Machine covers and parts.
The paint was done by Andrew "Bondo" Babish in Orange. An awesome subtle checker flag pattern complemented by hand laid gold leaf lettering.
The front end is from a 1976 GL Goldwing - a bit stronger than the stock CB especially with the added Telefix fork brace. This also added stronger dual front brakes.
The Excel Aluminum rims are nice upgrade from the stock steel Honda rims. The exhaust is a Yoshimura replica.
All the electrical's have been swapped out for modern pieces. The lighting is all LED from Joker Machine and the headlight is a trick Truck-Lite LED headlight.
Don has three other Hondas in his garage, I wonder if the rest are as cool as this.
Thanks Don for bringing it to our meet. See all the photos in our June Gallery.
