Congratulations to Todd Cameron of Pasadena for winning Bike of the Month with his 1916 Harley Davidson JD.
Todd won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
This is the oldest bike ever ridden to our meet. Todd rode it down from Pasadena. Not a small feat concidering it's top speed and age.
But nothing for Todd who rode it 3,700 miles from coast to coast in the 2018 Motorcycle Cannonball.
This is the second to the oldest bike we've had at Vintage Bike OC. In October 2012, Fritz Harmon took Bike of the Month with his
1913 Indian Single Speed.
The JD was bought by Todd's grandfather, John "JD" Cameron of La Mirada after the WWII. J. D. Cameron was one the founding members of the Booze Fighter's Motorcycle Club.

The Day That Kicked Bikers' Wild Image Into High Gear
J. D. set this bike up for racing. It has Ricardo Cylinders, Burke exhaust, a rear foot brake alon with a hand brake and many mods to the suspension.
J. D. raced the JD in both flat track and hill climbs.
Todd aquired the bike five years ago in pieces. Two years ago he started building it for the 2018 Cannonball. The Cannonball has a minimum speed of 48 mph which Todd ran at to enable him to finish.
The top speed of the bike is approximately 65 mph.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again.
Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for
their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
