Jerry Doe's 1971 Norton 750 Commando Make: Norton Model: Commando Year: 1971 Country of Origin: England Engine: 750cc Twin Transmission: 4 speed Owner: Jerry Doe City: Fullerton		1971 Norton 750 Commando Congratulations to Jerry Doe of Fullerton for winning Bike of the Month with his 1971 Norton 750 Commando. Jerry won a Mr. Pete's Grill gift certificate provided by Mr. Pete's Grill. Jerry bought his 750 Commando from Craigslist back in 2013 for $800 (no, she did not look like this; she needed a lot of work). Restoration was finished in the fall of 2015. Jerry also has an 850 Commando MKIII. The engine has an number of extensive upgrades; cams, pushrods, valves, carb, belt drive, etc. Paint was shot by Brent Budgor of Vintage-Vendor.com in Northfield Vermont. Jerry is webmaster for AccessNorton.com an online forum for Norton owners. Thanks Jerry for bringing it to our meet. See all the photos in our August Gallery.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
