Congratulations to Shawn Boeker of Garden Grove for winning Bike of the Month with his 1937 BMW R-12.
Shawn won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Shawn has owned the bike for 5 years and finished the restoration on it about three months ago.
Shawn restored all the mechanical bits and the paint was done by John's Body Shop in Long Beach.
Shawn has placed in the Bike of the Month contest several times in the past, but only once has one of his bikes won.
Bike of the Month - February 2018
Back in February 2018, Joshua Sult won with his 1966 BMW R60/2, a Shawn Boeker build.
The BMW R-12 was the first BMW to have an 4 speed transmission and the telescopic front fork. It also sported an 18hp motor.

The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again.
Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for
their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
