Congratulations to Roland Ortiz of Laguna Niguel for winning Bike of the Month with his 1953 MV Agusta Supersport 125.
Roland won a trophy provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Roland purchased this bike in January at the Los Vegas Auction. It was part of the Guy Webster Museum collection up in Ojai California.
A pure museum piece when he bought it, Roland just got it running and all the DMV paperwork finished.
It's very rare that we get an MV Agusta at our meet. Roland is always involved with European racing bikes.
This bike has telescopic forks which were introduced by MV Agusta in 1952. They won the Isle of Man TT with a 125 and went on to win their first World Championship.
I first met Roland back in April 2011 when he and Robert Bryson brought four classic racing bikes to the meet and won Bike of the Month
with a 1970 Moto Parilla.
April 2011 Bike of the Month
Roland has placed three times, once with a 1968 Bultaco 250 Metralla and then in February 2017 he took Third and Fourth with his 1968 Bultaco TSS 250 and 1967 Aermacchi 350
Thank you Roland for bringing your MV Agusta for all of us to see and all the support you've given throughout the years. See all the photos in our April Gallery.
