Congratulations to Bill Perrone of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1934 Moto Guzzi GT16.
Bill won a trophy provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Bill has won Bike of the Month three times before:
1955 BSA Goldstar in September 2015
1960 Moto Guzzi Falconi in December 2015
1951 Gilera Saturno Sport in July 2016
Bill has owned this bike for two years, but today was it's maiden ride on American soil. He bought it from Italy
in the current condition, but it required many mechanical fixes.
According to Bill the bike is a tough to ride, with a lever throttle (no twist grip), three speed tank shifter on the right and a left rear brake pedal. The eight mile ride to the meet was challenging.
Three levers on the right hand control, brake, choke & and throttle. Two levers on the left, clutch and spark advance.
This bike also has the first rear suspension swing arm. With springs mounted under the engine, and friction shock absorbers on each side of the rear wheel.
The front suspension was derived from Moto Guzzi's racing bikes with a three spring setup.
The front panel knee guards were standard on the GT16 model, but optional on other Moto Guzzis.
Thank you Bill for bring the Moto Guzzi for all of us to see. See all the photos in our December Gallery.
