Dave Zamiska with his 1972 BSA Lightning 650 Make: BSA Model: BSA Lightning 650 Year: 1972 Country of Origin: England Engine: 650cc Twin Transmission: 4 speed Owner: Dave Zamiska City: Huntington Beach		1972 BSA Lightning 650 Congratulations to Dave Zamiska of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1972 BSA Lightning 650. They won a Mr. Pete's Grill gift certificate provided by Mr. Pete's Grill. Dave won once before in August 2011 with his 1954 BSA A7-500 Shooting Star. 1972 was the last year of production for BSA motorcyles. Dave purchased this bike five years ago on E-Bay from the original owner out of Netty West Virginia. It was 100% complete, but very tired and old. His Chief Mechanic on the project was Steve Wood also of Huntington Beach. They finished the bike about two years ago with new paint, side cases and an NOS exhaust system. The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
